Two teens arrested after shootout in St. Paul Cub Foods parking lot

Authorities have apprehended two teenagers believed to be involved in a shootout that erupted in the parking lot of a St. Paul grocery store on Sunday morning. St. Paul police Sgt. Mike Ernster provided the following account:

Around 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, law enforcement received reports of gunfire at the Cub Foods parking lot located at 1177 Clarence Street in St. Paul. Upon arrival, officers discovered shell casings and vehicles damaged by gunfire, yet no individuals were found injured. Through their inquiries, authorities learned that two males had engaged in gunfire with a third male.

Subsequent investigation led detectives to a residence in the 500 block of Minnehaha Avenue East, where a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were arrested in connection with the shooting. A subsequent search yielded two handguns and other pertinent evidence.

As of now, the third shooter remains at large.

Additionally, law enforcement detained a 20-year-old man who was in the company of the two teenagers during the shooting. He was taken into custody due to an unrelated weapons-related warrant from Texas, according to police statements.
