Ramsey County Sheriff Bryan Lang has announced the resignation of a deputy who was placed on administrative leave with pay at the end of last month. Benjamin Myrum, the deputy in question, has stepped down from the department amidst an ongoing investigation into his conduct. The investigation primarily focuses on allegations regarding the misapplication of entrusted property. Sheriff Lang confirmed Myrum’s resignation, effective as of last Sunday.
The inquiry into Myrum’s actions remains underway and has been transferred to the State Bureau of Criminal Investigation for further examination. Myrum had served in the Sheriff’s Department for approximately 16 years prior to his resignation.
