Kim Kardashian has requested a judge to disregard Ye’s attempts to delay their divorce and to end their marriage as quickly as possible.
Late Wednesday, she filed documents in Los Angeles Superior Court alleging that Ye, who legally changed his name from Kanye West, began adding conditions to the divorce that would change the couple’s prenuptial agreement, and is seeking protections that are unnecessary and based on falsehoods in his own recent filing.
According to Kardashian, it’s evident that he’s just trying to prolong the inevitable, and that he’s doing it at the expense of others.
According to the court document, “Mr. West has made it obvious that he does not recognize that the parties’ marriage relationship is gone.” “Mr. West has caused emotional pain by disseminating on social media the parties’ private correspondence and disinformation concerning intimate family concerns and co-parenting.”
Kardashian sought the court in December to declare her legally single before the specifics of child custody and property were sorted out, as is customary in difficult divorces.
Ye had consented to the change, known in court as bifurcation, in advance, she claimed in the petition on Wednesday. However, on February 16, Ye filed his own objections, raising a slew of additional concerns.
At first, it looked like one of the most watched celebrity marriages in recent decades, between the 41-year-old reality TV star Kardashian and the 44-year-old rap and fashion magnate Ye, would end peacefully. The couple had been married for over seven years and have four children.
Kardashian requested the divorce over a year ago. Ye responded two months later, agreeing on all of the important demands, including child custody. Neither of them made a public statement about their breakup. Property disputes were avoided because to a prenuptial agreement.
However, in recent months, Ye has slammed Kardashian, her family, and her boyfriend Pete Davidson on social media. He has said that he is not permitted to make significant parenting decisions and that he has been excluded from their children’s birthday parties and other activities.
She stated a court declaring the two divorced could help him move on in a personal declaration filed with her Wednesday application.
“I desperately want to get divorced.” “I requested Kanye to keep our divorce a secret, but he refused,” Kardashian added. “I feel that the court’s decision to end our marriage will aid Kanye in accepting that our marriage is finished and moving ahead on a better road that will allow us to amicably co-parent our children.”
