Capcom Teases the New Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6, the next major installment in Capcom’s legendary fighting game brand, which is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year, has been unveiled. Following Kawano’s victory over veteran Daigo Umehara in the Capcom Pro Tour season final, a small teaser video was released.

The clip doesn’t show any actual gameplay, but it does hint that Street Fighter 6 will have a more realistic graphic style than past games in the series — or at least as realistic as you might hope while still preserving Ryu’s intimidating stature. More details about the game will be released this summer, according to Capcom.

Capcom will be aiming for a stronger debut for Street Fighter 6 than it had for its predecessor. When Street Fighter V was released for PS4 and PC in 2016, it looked and performed amazing, but it had a lack of content, as well as glitches and server troubles. After successive updates, the Arcade Edition and Champion Edition, had a better reception, the game eventually sold over six million copies.
