Heather Britt, an epidemiologist, has been named executive director of the Amherst H. Wilder Foundation’s Wilder Research unit in St. Paul.
Britt has worked at the Minnesota Hospital Association, Allina Health, the Minnesota Department of Education, and the Urban Coalition, most recently as a senior director of analytics at Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Minnesota. She graduated from Cornell University with a bachelor’s degree in biology, a master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina, and a PhD in epidemiology from the University of Minnesota.
To produce data-informed policy, the foundation collaborates with charities, government organizations, and lawmakers around the country.
Britt replaces Paul Mattessich, who served as executive director of Wilder Research for 40 years and developed the company from 12 to 80 employees. Last year, Mattesich announced his retirement. On June 13, Britt will join Wilder.
