US 19 lanes to close this weekend for Gateway Expressway project

This weekend, US 19 will have diversions due to lane closures as workers on the Gateway Expressway project.

Weather permitting, from 9 p.m. on Friday until 9 p.m. on Sunday, all northbound and southbound traffic on US 19 and the northbound US 19 Frontage Road will detour at Ulmerton Road and Bryan Dairy Road.

Drivers will be able to traverse the region with the aid of signage and electronic message boards.

The following detour directions are being sent by FDOT to drivers:

Ulmerton Road detour for southbound US 19

All traffic traveling south on US 19 will be diverted to use the Ulmerton Road (SR 688) exit, then turn south onto 66th Street. As traffic enters the southbound US 19 Frontage Road, it will turn east onto Bryan Dairy Road after continuing south on 66th Street.

The Bryan Dairy Road exit, which is close to 110th Avenue North, will be the only one open to motorists traveling north on US 19. Bryan Dairy Road will be traveled farther north before turning east onto 118th Avenue, then turning north onto 49th Street in the direction of Ulmerton Road. The flow of traffic will re-enter US 19 northbound via turning west on Ulmerton Road.
