Two killed in plane crash in Wisconsin after departing from Rochester

After departing from Rochester International Airport at 12:20 p.m. on Tuesday, two persons perished in an aircraft accident close to Red Wing Regional Airport in Wisconsin, which is just over the Minnesota border.

According to news accounts, the jet went down in a field approximately half a mile from Red Wing Regional Airport. Around 1:40 p.m., the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene of the collision.

The flight was to serve as training aboard the Glasair Super 2.

The incident is being looked into by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
