Friday in southwest Miami-Dade, a tow truck driver shot a business owner during a heated altercation, according to authorities.
In front of Ultimate Auto Werks body business, the incident occurred in the 12800 block of SW 122nd Avenue.
The company owner, who witnesses identified as the owner of the body shop, challenged the tow truck driver, according to the police.
A guy who was close and cleaning vehicles heard three gunshots.
“I believe the tow truck blocking the gate was to blame. And I suppose he wanted him to go “The man, who requested to be named simply Ian, said as much. “And the man was, I suppose, stubborn. He was unwilling to move. Then, according to what I’ve been informed, they began to get loud.”
According to the police, the confrontation became physical and eventually escalated to a shooting.
Ian said, “It’s unexpected since all of this might have been prevented.”
The victim was taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center, where their status was deemed stable.
Ian said, “This region is not renowned for random shootings like that.”
It indicated that the tow vehicle was owned by Excalibur Towing. A lawyer for the corporation informed the journalists over the phone that the company had no comment.
Officials were unable to identify either the victim or the gunman.
