St Pauls Rice Park to host holiday tree lighting on Saturday

As the seasons change, there are some constants: the days will get shorter, the air will become colder, and the Christmas lights at Rice Park in downtown St. Paul will remain lit until January.

The city’s annual tree-lighting ceremony will be conducted on Saturday, November 12 at 5:30 p.m.

The Salvation Army co-hosts the free event with the St. Paul Downtown Alliance and Xcel Energy. Thanks to the Salvation Army, this year’s event will include the return of a 40-foot, fully decorated Christmas tree.

Visit the park at 109 W. Fourth St. to listen to live music, drink some hot chocolate, and take some family Christmas photos.
