Search Begins For Suspect After Man Fatally Struck by Car in SW Miami-Dade

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred Saturday in southwest Miami-Dade, according to authorities.

Saturday night, the collision happened at the junction of Bird Road and Southwest 89th Avenue.

The FHP said that Miami-Dade Fire Rescue verified the victim’s death at the site.

The man’s corpse seemed to be covered by a yellow sheet in the Bird Road eastbound lanes, which were closed for many hours.

The suspect car is probably a black Dodge Charger, and it was last seen escaping from Bird Road southbound on SW 97 Avenue.

At the site, Florida Highway Patrol traffic homicide detectives gathered evidence and questioned witnesses.

The media reached out to state police to inquire about the crash’s cause and if anybody would be penalized or prosecuted.

Anyone with information on the fleeing car or suspect is asked to contact the Florida Highway Patrol.
