Revised Pay Offer Ends Stagecoach Merseyside Bus Strike

After receiving a revised compensation offer, hundreds of bus workers’ planned walkout has been put on hold.

On Thursday, Unite workers employed by Stagecoach at the Gillmoss facility in Liverpool were scheduled to strike.

According to Unite regional officer Dave Roberts, members are currently being polled on the new offer.

Stagecoach Merseyside’s managing director, Matt Davies, stated that “good conversations” resulted in the offer.

The company was “pleased to have reached agreement on a revised compensation plan for our personnel at Gillmoss depot that is being endorsed by the union,” the executive continued.

We’re happy that this means the industrial action scheduled for Thursday won’t take place and that we can continue to provide our scheduled services, he continued.

However, a Unite official issued a warning that a second strike planned for July 4 will still take place if the deal was rejected by its members.
