According to a source, Adam Zimmer, 38, may have died as a result of alcohol and an eye injury.
On November 1, a welfare check resulted in Zimmer’s death being discovered at his Mendota Heights residence.
Police were reportedly summoned to Zimmer’s house on the basis of claims that he “had passed out from drinking,” according to court records seen by the Star Tribune.
In his townhouse, Zimmer was discovered by police sitting on a couch with “bruising or blood collecting around his eye,” according to the records.
No wrongdoing is suspected by the police.
In the 2020 and 2021 seasons, Adam Zimmer, Mike Zimmer’s son, served as the Vikings’ co-defensive coordinator. He was working from home as an offensive analyst for the Cincinnati Bengals at the time of his passing.
