On Tuesday, Shannon Martin, the mayor of Port St. Lucie, was re-elected.
Martin, a former vice mayor and councilwoman, won the position for the first time in September of last year.
The city has faced two obstacles in the last year: a waste issue on the one hand, and rapid expansion on the other. Martin said that she and the council are still working to
Martin said, “I adore helping the people of Port St. Lucie.” “I simply feel very humbled and blessed to have their support going forward.”
Martin predicted that going ahead, the city will need to concentrate on strategic expansion.
Martin escaped a runoff with more than 63% of the vote.
Stephanie Morgan, a member of the city council, also won reelection.
