A guy was discovered dead on a St. Paul sidewalk early on Friday, and a homicide investigation is currently under way.
Around 3:10 a.m. on Friday, paramedics received a call reporting a guy laying in front of a business in the 600 block of North Dale Street. They discovered the man, who was thought to be in his 50s, had passed away.
According to police spokesperson Steve Linders, the male suffered facial damage, and officers launched what they called a “suspicious death investigation.” After conducting an autopsy, the Ramsey County medical examiner’s office confirmed the guy had been shot and ruled his death a homicide.
As of Friday afternoon, no one has been placed under arrest. Investigators urged that anybody with information contact them at 651-266-5650. According to Linders, the police do not think the shooting was random.
To examine the site and search for any evidence, members of the homicide and forensic services teams were called. The police force was also looking for any security footage.
On Friday, the police agency withheld the man’s name. He was the 21st person to be killed in St. Paul this year.
