Police are looking into the vandalism that was discovered this week at a pro-life pregnancy facility in St. Paul.
“Abort America” and “Blood on your hands” were two words that were painted on Birthright of St. Paul. The structure housing the facility on Snelling and Carroll avenues was the target.
According to Sgt. David McCabe, a spokesperson for the St. Paul police department, the damage, which included two shattered windows, was reported to police on Tuesday about 7 a.m.
As of Wednesday afternoon, there were no suspects, and it was uncertain when the damage happened.
According to the website for Birthright, they offer information on pregnancies, adoptions, prenatal care, neighborhood initiatives, parenting techniques, and childcare. Interdenominational and “not engaged in any political activity, or lobbying,” according to their description of their group.
They don’t “believe in referring toward abortion,” according to the volunteer organizer for Birthright St. Paul, and “are all highly supportive of life,” she told MPR News on Tuesday.
Birthright facilities are described on a number of websites as “crisis pregnancy clinics” that provide pregnancy tests and information with the main goal of discouraging women from getting abortions.
After Roe v. Wade was just overturned by the US Supreme Court, abortions are still permitted in Minnesota.
