Police Investigate Alleged Sexual Battery at Mango’s Tropical Cafe

The weekend claimed sexual battery at a well-known Miami Beach nightclub is being looked into by Miami Beach Police.

Early on Sunday morning, surveillance footage shows Miami Beach Police showing up to Mango’s Tropical Cafe on South Beach.

A few hours later, it captured the arrival of the Crime Scene Unit and the cops leaving with an evidence bag.

Miami Beach has verified “900 Ocean Drive is the location of an ongoing investigation into an alleged sexual battery that happened on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at 4:03 a.m. On this case, our detectives are collaborating closely with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. There is presently no extra information accessible.”

Mitch Novick, the owner of the motel next to Mango’s, stated, “It’s disturbing, but these things sadly happen frequently. The police reaction in the early hours was filmed by his hotel’s security cameras.

“These incidents shouldn’t take place at a place of work or even a nightclub. It’s disgusting “Novick said.

David Wallack, the proprietor of Mango’s, told NBC 6 in a statement that two workers who were reportedly engaged in the event had been suspended. He didn’t give any further information.

“Mango’s Tropical Cafe has a long history of giving both customers and workers a safe and secure atmosphere. We have a zero-tolerance policy for sexual misconduct, according to our employee handbook, the statement said.

“We learned of these claims on Sunday morning, and we’re committed to working with the ongoing local law enforcement investigation. We are also conducting an internal inquiry,” it continued. “We have terminated the employment of the two workers who are accused of being engaged in this event, and we will take necessary measures when the investigations are over. Mango’s Tropical Cafe is still dedicated to encouraging a secure environment for everyone.
