The man who passed away on Thursday after being stabbed in the Dayton’s Bluff district of St. Paul has been identified by authorities in that city.
According to St. Paul police, the guy was identified as Sylvester T. Cain, 38, of Chicago, by the Ramsey County medical examiner’s office on Friday. No one has been taken into custody, and the homicide case is still being investigated.
When police arrived to a 911 call on Wednesday morning about 10:30, they discovered Cain to be awake and breathing. He was taken to Regions Hospital by paramedics. Around noon on Thursday, the police were informed that he passed away from his wounds at the hospital.
It was the 22nd homicide in St. Paul this year; at this time last year, there had been 14 killings.
