Police are Investigating a Fatal Shooting in St. Paul’s Frogtown

A guy was discovered shot at a residence in St. Paul’s Frogtown district early Wednesday, prompting police to investigate a homicide.

Around 3:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Edmund Avenue for a report of a gunshot. The man was transported to Regions Hospital, where he died.

According to Sgt. Natalie Davis, a police spokesperson, there were other persons in the house when officers arrived, and detectives were interrogating other people Wednesday morning.

No one was detained right away. Davis stated, “We’re really appealing for the public’s support.” Anyone with information is encouraged to call the murder team at 651-266-5650, where they may remain anonymous, according to Davis.

After the Ramsey County medical examiner’s office confirms the identify of the guy, who is thought to be in his 20s, the police department plans to reveal his name.

“Our murder investigators will work around the clock to discover the individual or persons responsible,” Davis said. “However, in order to curb gun violence, we need the community’s support.”
