Pasco shoes and socks donation drive to benefit students

During their 7th annual Two Good Soles Shoes and Socks Drive, Pasco County Government and Constitutional offices are starting to collect shoes for children attending Pasco County Schools.

Through October 21, participants may donate brand-new shoes and socks in collection boxes at Pasco County Government facilities as well as the offices of the county’s tax collector, property appraiser, and clerk.

Pasco Support Services Director Paula Baracaldo said in a statement, “This effort originated as a concept for a ‘Day of Caring’ by County workers. “It has now developed into a communal effort to provide so many children in our town a better start to the school year.”

3,947 pairs of socks and 3,000 pairs of shoes were collected during the last campaign. 12,314 pairs of shoes and 34,457 pairs of socks have been gathered since the Two Good Soles event began in 2016.

The supplies are given out to Pasco kids by social workers.
