One dead after shooting at Orlando high school football game

A gunshot outside a high school football game in Orlando resulted in the death of one person and drove players and spectators fleeing for safety.

During a disagreement between two groups, a shooter opened fire in the parking lot as Jones High School was concluding a playoff win against Wekiva High, according to Orlando’s chief of police, Eric Smith.

The Orlando Sentinel said that players and fans ran to the other side of the stadium after the rounds were fired. Smith said that officers rushed to the parking area where they discovered a deceased and an injured adult. According to him, four minors were apprehended, including one who was armed.

No charges were filed immediately, and no identities have been made public.
