Ninth murder charge over Liverpool internet cafe attack

The death of an 18-year-old guy who was attacked at a city center internet café has resulted in the accusation of a ninth person with murder.

After being attacked in a cafe on London Road in Liverpool on April 16, Michael Toohey passed away.

Steven McInerney, 33, of no fixed home, was charged with murder and was scheduled to appear before Wirral magistrates on Friday, according to Merseyside Police.

Previously, seven men and one youngster were accused of killing Mr. Toohey.

Two boys, 14 and 15, who had previously been detained and given bail, according to a force spokesman, have now been freed while an investigation is ongoing.

After an autopsy, it was discovered that Mr. Toohey, a resident of Liverpool, had suffered many wounds.
