New Brighton Man Who Admitted Killing Wife is Jailed

A man has been sentenced to prison for murdering his wife at their Liverpool home.

After confessing to murder, Mohammed Azizi, 58, of Stoneycroft, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 16 years at Liverpool Crown Court.

Malak Adabzadeh, an Iranian national, was discovered dead after police were summoned to the couple’s residence in The Green on November 25.

The 47-year-old died of head trauma, according to a post-mortem study.

Her family described Ms Adabzadeh as “generous, kind, and always willing to help anyone.”

Merseyside Police Det Insp John Holden said: “Although no sentence will ever be able to bring Malak back, I hope that it will provide some closure to her loved ones.

“Domestic violence is a heinous and reprehensible crime.

“All allegations are taken seriously; they will be thoroughly examined, and we will do everything possible to bring culprits to justice.”

Two additional guys, aged 21 and 46, were detained but were freed with no further action taken.
