According to the Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, a 59-year-old man and 58-year-old woman whose bodies were discovered in a remote residence in western Minnesota are thought to have committed suicide.
Monday at 2:24 p.m., the sheriff’s office was sent to the Battle Lake residence where two bodies were discovered.
“The Sheriff’s Office thinks it was an isolated event, and there is no known public danger,” the sheriff’s office stated in a statement.
With assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Ramsey, the sheriff’s office is investigating the fatalities.
Authorities did not provide any information, including the man and woman’s names, the actual location of the residence, or the alleged cause of death.
About 20 miles east of Fergus Falls lies Battle Lake.
