A 55-year-old man who died a week after being attacked on the street has been charged with murder.
In the early morning hours of July 12, Christopher John Molly was attacked on Stanley Road in Bootle. He passed away in the hospital on Tuesday night.
On Friday, Joseph Byrne, 24, of Linacre Road in Litherland, is scheduled to appear in court.
A post-mortem will be performed, according to Merseyside Police, to determine the exact cause of Mr. Molly’s demise.
Officers were helping Mr. Molly’s family “at this terrible moment,” the force spokesperson stated.
A Southport resident, 26, and a 14-year-old kid had already been accused of robbery and violence.
While two girls, 12 and 15, were being held on suspicion of stealing, a 16-year-old boy was also detained on suspicion of aiding an offender.
A 13-year-old and a 15-year-old kid were detained on suspicion of intentionally causing great bodily injury.
In the meanwhile, a bail has been set for all five.
