A man in Miami has been charged with attempted murder and other offenses after allegedly using a machete to assault an Amazon delivery driver.
According to documents from the Miami-Dade County Jail, 28-year-old Manes Pierre-Beauchamp was detained on Wednesday on counts of attempted criminal murder and burglary.
On the night of November 13, the 9500 block of Northwest 3rd Avenue was the site of an alleged assault.
The report said that the driver of an Amazon delivery truck saw a car parked behind his vehicle and then saw a guy, identified as Pierre-Beauchamp, go up to the van.
According to the complaint, Pierre-Beauchamp lunged through the passenger window while holding a machete and struck the driver in the arm, inflicting a severe gash and a fracture.
Pierre-Beauchamp was ultimately identified as the culprit and arrested after extensive investigation. As of Friday, he was still being detained without bail.
