Man Who Shot Toward Girlfriend Arrested After SWAT Called in St. Paul

On Thursday morning in St. Paul, police say a guy fired at his girlfriend, prompting the SWAT team to go to the scene.

The North End event did not result in any reported injuries.

Officers responded to a call reporting gunfire at an apartment building on West Maryland Avenue between Cumberland and Arundel streets at around 6:50 a.m. According to police spokesperson Steve Linders, a 51-year-old male fired at his 50-year-old girlfriend out of a window. She arrived safely.

The SWAT squad was dispatched as the guy remained inside the flat. According to Linders, they entered the flat just before 11 a.m. and brought the man into custody without any problems. A revolver and a shotgun were reportedly discovered by the police.

The man was detained by police after being suspected of domestic abuse and aggravated assault. He was then lodged in the Ramsey County prison.
