On Tuesday, Kathy Castor and Alan Cohn easily won the congressional districts 14 and 15, respectively.
A five-person race in District 15, which includes portions of Polk, Hillsborough, and Pasco, was won by Cohn with 33% of the vote.
The main election in November will pit Cohn against Laurel Lee, who defeated four other candidates with 41% of the vote. Cohn is a former television investigative news reporter.
With more than 90% of the vote in the 14th District, incumbent Kathy Castor easily won.
In the general election in November, James Judge, a Republican, will challenge Castor.
“Castor addressed a gathering of supporters Tuesday night, “You can depend on me to pick up the baton for St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay region and fighting the special interests in Washington D.C. “I still have a fight ahead of me in November, and I’m going to need your assistance.”
The eastern portions of Pinellas County, including South St. Pete, and portions of Hillsborough County, including Westchase, South Tampa, and Ybor City, are included in Florida’s 14th Congressional District.
