After someone in an SUV opened fire on several automobiles on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade early on Monday, authorities are looking into the incident.
According to Florida Highway Patrol officers, soon after 10:30 a.m., someone inside a dark-colored SUV opened fire on a lady driving a black BMW car northbound on I-95 near Northwest 125th Street.
As the driver stepped off at Northwest 125th Street, the BMW was smacked many times on the driver’s side. The driver’s side window of the car had gunshot holes, as shown on surveillance footage.
The BMW’s driver was unharmed.
Officials said that gunshots also struck the passenger side of a second vehicle, a white Nissan Sentra, in the same vicinity of I-95. After exiting at Northwest 163rd Street, that motorist kept going north.
Additionally unharmed was that driver.
Authorities said they are looking for the SUV, which is thought to be a grey or black Audi, and that they suspect a third car may have been damaged by the gunfire.
What preceded the shooting is unclear, and there was no additional information available at the time.
