Four police officers have been accused for stabbing a guy with a broken toilet seat after a scuffle.
Merseyside Police said that the off-duty officers were out on a night out in Ava’s Bar on Renshaw Street in Liverpool on July 28, 2020.
The cops and another group had a verbal spat, which was followed by a brawl in the bathrooms, according to the Liverpool Echo, which cited a source.
According to authorities, the victim was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries.
During the fighting in the bar’s restrooms, a guy was injured, apparently as a result of a broken toilet seat, and another fight ensued.
PCs Paul Grimes, 37, of Childwall Valley Road, Childwall, and Sean Miley, 31, of Redbank Close, Fazakerley, have been charged with wounding with the intent to cause serious bodily injury.
Affray charges have been filed against PC Lucy Donaldson, 40, of Sergrim Road, Huyton, and PC John Thompson, 26, of Benedict Street, Bootle.
They have all rejected the allegations and will be tried at Manchester Crown Court.
The policemen were expected to stand trial in August, according to Merseyside Police, but the force declined to speak further.
