A 37-year-old Lauderhill man was detained at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on charges that he misinformed 911 operators that a shootout was about to break out.
According to court documents, Datron Devonne Roscoe is accused of falsely reporting a threat involving a bomb, explosion, or weapon of mass destruction to 911.
The arrest report said that about 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Roscoe contacted 911 to report “a large gun fight shootout at the airport” and to request that “call everybody” be made.
Roscoe was apprehended by Broward Sheriff’s Deputies after being discovered at Terminal 4. Investigators concluded that the threats he reported were baseless.
He was placed under arrest on Tuesday and held there on a $20,000 bail.
