A sizable blaze in Merseyside has been combated by firefighters.
According to Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, the fire started at around 21:30 BST on Tuesday in a field in Bootle near Lydiate Lane and Buckley Hill Lane.
Miles away from the fire, huge plumes of smoke and flames could be seen.
The fire department said that the incident, which had charred grass measuring around 200 meters (660 feet) by 100 meters (330 feet), had been put out by 23:00.
During the recent heatwave, Merseyside Fire & Rescue said that they received 1,000 emergency calls and responded to 100 grass fires.
