Emergency responders to drill Thursday in St. Paul

On Thursday, there will be some noise in Como Park due to an emergency preparation practice.

According to a press statement from the St. Paul Fire Department, residents may notice an unusually high number of emergency vehicles, but it is not a “real-world incident” and there is no need to be concerned.

The workout will be held at 1115 Buelah Lane, next to the McMurray Athletic Fields, from 8 am to 6 pm. All roads will be open throughout the exercise.

Hazardous Material Response Teams from the St. Paul Fire Department, Minneapolis-based FBI agents, St. Paul police, St. Paul Emergency Management, and the 55th Civil Support Team of the Minnesota National Guard will also participate in the drill. According to the statement, participants will concentrate on interagency collaboration, assessing emergency readiness, and sending chemical assessment teams.
