Classes resume after earlier unfounded threat at Pasco County middle school

Following a threat made on the first day of school at a middle school in Pasco County, classes have continued as usual.

According to Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, Rushe Middle School students were evacuated out of an abundance of caution after a suspected bomb threat.

On Wednesday morning, PSO deputies reacted to a purported online threat that had been made over the weekend in a social media thread from the previous academic year.

In order for PSO to conduct a complete search of the school, students and staff were evacuated. According to authorities, nothing was discovered throughout the search. There is now no danger to the school, and lessons have resumed as usual.

PSO invites locals to contact their tips line at 1-800-706-2488 with any threats or suspicious activity.
