Child calls 911 to report man and woman fatally shot in St. Paul residence

A youngster dialed 911 on Tuesday night, alerting authorities to the gunshot deaths of a man and a woman inside a St. Paul apartment. Since then, police are looking into the incident.

Police said that no one was detained and that no suspects are being sought.

Two individuals were shot and died, according to the youngster who phoned 911 at 9:15 p.m., in the 2000 block of California Avenue in the Greater East Side community of Northern Hayden Heights.

The two were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

As of early Wednesday, investigators and crime scene experts were still gathering evidence. Police described the occurrence as a “tragic incident” in a news release that had no further details.

After the autopsies are completed by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office, according to the police, the names of the deceased will be made public.
