Officials said that a boat at Boca Chita Key struck a channel marker and capsized, inflicting significant injuries on four individuals.
According to a press release from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, the incident that occurred shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday wounded 11 out of the 14 individuals aboard the boat.
In order to clean up the area, the agency sent more than 10 units, who worked with Miami-Dade Police maritime patrol units, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
The boat contained 14, according to the authorities. According to fire rescue personnel, seven people had minor injuries. The condition of the wounded received no further update.
The seriously wounded were flown to a medical facility in Miami.
