Blasting Operations Set to Begin July 15th in Ashton

The contractor will blast rock beneath the road as part of the construction work at the junction of U.S. Highway 20 and Idaho Highway 47 in Ashton. Between July 15 and July 19, the route will be partially blocked off for the blasting operation.

On US-20 and ID-47, traffic control flaggers will direct traffic during these activities.

During this time, drivers may expect longer than usual delays. ITD requests that all motorists be alert for machinery and personnel, obey all traffic regulations and flaggers, and travel within the established speed limits. It is crucial that drivers maintain their own and the workers’ safety during this activity.

In addition to a signal, new curb and sidewalks, storm sewer work, and pavement, the US-20/ID-47 junction project also includes a stoplight. The project is expected to be finished in October.
