As Nicole hits, Orange County still trying to recover from Hurricane Ian

Many areas in Orange County are still recovering from water caused by Hurricane Ian, and Hurricane Nicole threatens to bring further damage.

When Ian stormed over Orange County approximately a month ago, the region received 8-12 inches of rainfall and high water levels.

While some portions of the county have already been cleared of storm debris, many are still waiting for county-contracted cleaning personnel to remove the garbage, waste, and damaged items.

News Early Thursday morning, six teams in the Orlo Vista neighborhood discovered debris still piled beside the road.

After Hurricane Ian, Orlo Vista had severe flooding, which devastated houses and property.

Water levels have decreased, and Orange County authorities said Wednesday that they are continuing to pump water out of the neighborhood. However, Nicole is expected to pour considerably more rain on the region.

As of early Thursday morning, forecasts predict that Nicole will bring 4-8 inches of precipitation to the area.
