Following a fire at a cathedral, a woman has been charged with arson.
In the early hours of May 29, a fire broke out at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral on Mount Pleasant, causing damage to the doors and gallery.
Merseyside Police said a 35-year-old woman was charged with arson and possession of a prohibited substance and held in jail.
The fire did not spread to the main section of the cathedral, although it did suffer smoke damage inside.
The fire did not result in any injuries.
