Arrest Made After Motorcyclist Injured in Coconut Creek Hit-and-Run

A hit-and-run accident in Coconut Creek that wounded a motorcycle is being blamed on a Deerfield Beach man.

About 4:30 a.m., Jacob Jose Roman, 27, collided with the motorbike. In the 7300 block of North, on August 27. According to the police report, State Road 7 is close to the Riverstone Shoppes mall.

A heavy-set male with medium-length hair who was wearing a blue shirt and black jeans was seen getting out of a Ford Crown Victoria on surveillance footage. He left the automobile behind after turning to look at the biker who was laying on the road.

The owner and address of the automobile were found on documents that the investigators found in the glove box. Additionally, they learned that Jacob Roman had a DUI on his record and that his license had been suspended in March 2021, according to the police.

Roman’s father Joel called 911 less than four hours after the crash to report that his vehicle had been stolen, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Jacob Roman’s residence, the hotel where he works, and his phone number were all unreachable. He hadn’t heard from him, according to his father.

Detectives spoke with Roman’s hotel manager two days after the crash. She displayed security footage showing Roman leaving the workplace wearing a blue shirt and black trousers that matched the footage taken around the collision site.
