After Fatal Stabbing in North End, St. Paul Police Open Investigation

Police say a man was stabbed to death in St. Paul’s North End area late Monday afternoon.

According to a press release from the St. Paul Police Department, officers responded soon after 5:30 p.m. to a complaint of an attack at an apartment in the 100 block of Winnipeg Avenue, where they discovered a man in his 40s suffering from a stab wound.

Officers administered first aid to the man until doctors came, but he died on the spot. The homicide is the city’s 20th of 2022.

According to the news release, no arrests have been made in the case, but authorities do not believe the assault was random.

Investigators were working late Monday night to figure out what led up to the stabbing, and the department’s video management team was looking for surveillance film that could have caught the event on camera.

Anyone with information regarding the case is requested to phone 651-266-5650.

The individual will be identified by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
