A deadly St Paul downtown shooting saw one dead. Police have now identified the victim as a 33-year-old male local.
Details of The St Paul Downtown Shooting
Sunday, shortly after 2 a.m., police and paramedics responding to a 911 call responded to a medical emergency.
St. Paul resident Deondrae R. Atkins was located in the 200 block of West Ninth Street near a loading dock. It was in close proximity to the M Health Fairview Clinics and Specialty Center and the Catholic Charities Higher Ground shelter.
Atkins’ upper torso showed an obvious gunshot wound, and paramedics declared him dead. This came after the victim suffered significant blood loss and heart failure.
As of Monday afternoon, no arrests have been made, and a police spokeswoman said that the circumstances surrounding Atkins’ murder are still under investigation.
