After being struck by a vehicle as she exited a bus, a 12-year-old girl died.
Lexi McDavid, a Huyton woman, was hit by a white Mercedes on Princess Drive in Liverpool at around 15:30 BST on Tuesday.
She was sent to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, but she died soon after.
The van driver remained at the site and was aiding authorities with their investigation, according to Merseyside Police.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are very much with the family of Lexi, who has unfortunately lost her life at a young age, and they are getting the assistance of specialist officers,” Det Sgt Andy Roper said.
He requested anybody who saw the accident or filmed it on dashcam or other devices to come forward.
