This year, Microsoft is said to be introducing an Xbox Game Pass family package. According to Windows Central, Microsoft has been considering a family plan for Xbox Game Pass for a long time and is now in a position to launch one in the “near future.”
According to reports, the family plan option will allow Xbox Game Pass access for five gamers at a lower cost than individual accounts. Microsoft’s Family Account system, which is also used for Microsoft 365 Family subscriptions, would apparently be integrated.
It’s unclear if Xbox Game Pass, PC Game Pass, and the Ultimate edition of Microsoft’s game subscription service would have distinct family memberships. Microsoft is said to have struggled with the distribution of royalties and remuneration for third-party publishers that now license their content for the primary Xbox Game Pass programs.
For $9.99 each month, Microsoft provides Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass. Both lack online multiplayer features, but for $14.99, you can upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes Game Pass for consoles, PCs, EA Play access, and online multiplayer.
The possibility of an Xbox Game Pass family option comes only days after Sony revised its PlayStation Plus memberships. Sony’s equivalent to Xbox Game Pass has numerous levels, with the first one starting at $9.99 per month.
