Twitter Introduces Ability to Search For Tweet Authors

On profile pages, Twitter has included a new search option that makes it easy to browse through a user’s tweets. The button first appeared for a small number of users last month, according to social media expert Matt Navarra, but according to XDA Developers, the functionality has now been rolled out extensively in the service’s iOS app.

It’s not a new Twitter feature to be able to limit a search to a particular user’s tweets. Use the syntax “from:[Twitter handle] [search keyword]” in the usual Twitter search box to get the same result. So, for example, if you wanted to search my (poor) tweets for every time I said “keyboard,” you could use the app’s search button and type: from:jonporty keyboard

The new button helps to make things a little easier. It may be useful if you’re looking for an article you faintly recall someone tweeting about months ago but can’t recall the details.

The new search button is just one of a slew of new features that Twitter has been rolling out in recent months. Last week, the platform enabled iOS users throughout the world to Super Follow Twitter profiles, allowing them to pay for access to supplementary material from the network’s authors.

Twitter began allowing anybody to run one of its audio-only Space chatrooms the same month. Twitter Blue, a subscription service, and Communities are two more new features.
