Developers Confirm Max Payne Remakes are in Production

Max Payne and Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne are being remade by Remedy Entertainment. For the remakes, the business is forming a “new development arrangement” with Rockstar Games, which will be distributed as a single title for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X / S.

In a press statement, Rockstar Games founder Sam Houser remarked, “We were excited when our long-time friends at Remedy approached us about replicating the original Max Payne games.” “We are huge admirers of the Remedy team’s work throughout the years, and we are really excited to experience these updated versions.”

The game is “now in the idea development stage,” according to the press release, which refers to it as “New Max Payne 1&2 Project.” There was no indication of when the film will be released. According to the press announcement, the remake’s budget would be “funded by Rockstar Games and will be in line with a normal Remedy AAA-game development.”

Last year’s Alan Wake Remastered, an upgraded version of the cult classic, was followed by the Max Payne remakes. Alan Wake 2 is also in the works at Remedy, albeit it won’t be released until 2023.
