Since opening its doors in 2001, The Machine Shed in Lake Elmo has been serving some of the region’s best cuisine, inspired by the four seasons. The restaurant’s staff take pride in their chef-driven menu of savory dishes, made from scratch and sure to please the most discerning palate.

"We’ve been in Lake Elmo for 14 years now and have seen a lot of places come and go through the years, but our home-style foods and dinner house atmosphere is and will remain a local favorite," restaurant manager Brian Roberts says.

The Machine Shed stays true to its motto: "to serve food farmers would be proud of" by using only the finest ingredients available for its revolving menu.

From the prime cuts of meats that make up their hand-trimmed, aged ribeye steaks and double-cut pork chops to the freshest seasonal vegetables in their salads, The Machine Shed is committed to using high-quality ingredients.

Along with fresh vegetables, house-baked bread, wild rice or choice of potato, most dinners also offer family-style fixings such as homemade cole slaw, homemade applesauce and cottage cheese.

The Machine Shed has received numerous regional and national awards for its farm-fresh fare over the years, including "Best Breakfast in America" from the Food Network, a "Golden Butter Knife Award" and a "Certificate of Excellence Award" from TripAdvisor.

The Lake Elmo hotspot serves breakfast and lunch daily, along with its popular brunch on Sundays and special holidays such as Easter and Mother's Day. The restaurant also offers daily specials starting at 3 p.m., with crowd-pleasing entrees like St. Louis-style ribs, and "Kickin' Chicken," smoked all day to perfection in the in-house smoker.

The Machine Shed also features a full lounge, stocked with domestic and craft beers, and a wide variety of fine spirits and wines. For larger parties, the restaurant has both private and semi-private banquet rooms that can accommodate up to 225 guests, and a scenic outdoor pavilion for weddings and other special events.

While at the Machine Shed, make sure to check out its iconic gift shop full of farm-themed gifts and go online to explore its food blog for recipes and cooking tips. You can take a stroll through the blooming community gardens in warmer months, or take the kids on a free tractor ride on weekends.

Kids also eat free Sundays after 3 p.m. when two free kids meals are on the house with the purchase of an adult entree.
