Local teams triumph at elite meet

The Mounds View High School track and field teams had a busy night at the Hamline Elite Meet on Friday. The boys and girls squads combined for 20 entries in the meet and one of those entries brought home a gold medal.
The Knights’ boys team had two entries at Hamline on Friday. The 4x100-meter relay team of senior Magnus Etuko and juniors Alex Kelner, Sam Vossler and Victor James teamed up and finished fourth with a time of 43.86 seconds, 0.67 seconds behind the winning time run by a team from Wayzata.

Roseville foursome wins at Hamline Elite Meet

Only one member of the Roseville Area High School boys 4x800-meter relay team that earned All-State honors last season is back this spring, but it appears he has found some worthy new partners.
Senior Dan Wahlstedt teamed up with sophomore Collin Kiley, junior Jack Schugel and senior Dan Zalk to win the 4x800 at the Hamline Elite Meet on Friday. They completed the eight laps in a time of 8:09.19 to beat out the runner-up team from Hibbing by 0.88 seconds.

Depth has MVHS boys track thinking big

RAHS girls track and field counting on its depth

The Roseville Area High School girls track and field team capped off the 2013 season with a 15th-place finish in the team standings at the state meet. The Raiders ended up with 21 team points and got most of those from a state champion and a third-place relay team.
