Is it a case of public versus private and parochial?

The recent attempt to oust St. Thomas Academy from the Classic Suburban Conference has raised more than one question.
Probably the first question raised was if it was legal. After a vote of 6-2 and one abstention by the nine activity directors of the conference to kick out St. Thomas beginning in the 2014-15 school year, a review of the Classic Suburban bylaws raised the question of legality. Evidently the bylaws are unclear as to whether that can or can’t be done.

New North softball coach looking to continue success

While North softball coach Cliff Charpentier is “new” to the Polars as head  coach, he is not new to the Polar team or to softball in general. 
“I have been coaching at various high school levels for the last 11 years,” Charpentier said. “Also, I have coached the majority of the players we have on our team in summer ball for the last four years.”

Softball: Polars win in five 

The North Polars played their second softball game of the season in the new West St. Paul Dome and had similar results to the contest the day before. 
April 1, the Polars hung a 6-0 shutout on the Mahtomedi Zephyrs. April 2, against the Sibley Warriors, it took just 5 innings for North to paste an 11-1 score up on the board as they pushed their early season mark to 2-0.

Girls track and field: 3-peat for Polars?

Several returning runners should improve North High’s chances of winning its third straight Classic Suburban Conference championship in girls track and field this spring.
North girls track and field coach Dan Cahill recently said he had high expectations for several experienced athletes.
