Looking at Indian Mounds Regional Park differently


Marjorie Otto/Review The native community and the City of St. Paul are working together on a cultural landscape study of Indian Mounds Regional Park with the goal of creating a shared vision that respects the sacredness of the land. As part of the project, a series of community engagement meetings are being held so community members can learn from each other about the significance of the park.

Vikings back Kaposia center’s ninja course

The St. Thomas Academy Experimental Vehicle Team (EVT) finished fifth in the world at the 2018 Shell Eco-marathon Drivers’ World Championship on July 8.

Moreland named U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon School

West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan Area Schools (District 197) has announced that Moreland Arts and Health Sciences Magnet Elementary School has been named a United States Department of Education Green Ribbon School for 2018.

Voters pass $117 million building bond in ISD 197

On May 8, voters in the West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan School District 197 passed a bond referendum for $117 million. It was approved with 62 percent of the vote.

Henry Sibley students join march to end gun violence in Washington, D.C.


courtesy of Janine Bauert • A group of students from Henry Sibley High School in Mendota Heights calling themselves MNeverAgain traveled to Washington, D.C., to take part in the March For Our Lives rally on March 24. The march was to raise awareness about gun violence in light of the recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

Trip to D.C. is a first step.

 

A group of 36 students and 10 chaperones loaded onto buses March 22 to begin the more than 1,000-mile trip to Washington D.C.

What $117 million looks like


courtesy of ISD 197 • West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan ISD 197 is asking residents to vote to approve a $117 building bond on May 8. If it’s approved, all eight of the district’s school buildings will be improved, including Henry Sibley High School.

ISD 197 sets bond referendum for May.
