Oakdale - Lake Elmo Review Police reports September 18, 2019


An iPad was stolen from a store kiosk on Sept. 2 in the 3000 block of White Bear Avenue North. Around 5:30 p.m., police say an employee provided video of the theft where a customer stole the iPad when an employee was helping another person. The same day around 8:45 p.m., another theft was reported in the 200 block of McKnight Road South. 

Drunk driver
A visibly intoxicated person was reportedly being aggressive toward employees at a store in the 1000 block of Cope Avenue East on Sept. 2. The driver was arrested for DWI around 9:45 p.m.

Hit and run
A vehicle was reportedly hit in a parking lot in the 3000 block of White Bear Avenue North on Sept. 3. There are no suspects in the crash, which was reported just before 1 p.m.

Accidental property damage
A vehicle was damaged in the 2000 block of Larpenteur Avenue East when friends were playing around the complainant’s car. A person reportedly jumped on the hood of a car and damaged it on Sept. 3 just before 3 p.m.

Weapon report
A person reportedly approached a random house in the 1000 block of Flandrau Street North with a firearm they received from a cousin’s house on Sept. 4 around 1:30 a.m. Police say the person did not threaten anyone.

A person stole an Xbox One console from a store in the 3000 block of White Bear Avenue North on Sept. 4. There are no suspects in the theft, which occurred around 11:30 a.m.

Recovered property
A stolen vehicle was found in the 1000 block of Payne Avenue North and is being processed for evidence. The vehicle was found on Sept. 5 just before 1 p.m. There are currently no suspects.

Police found drug paraphernalia in plain view during a traffic stop near the intersection of White Bear Avenue North and Mesabi Avenue. The stop was reported around 2:45 a.m. on Sept. 6. Police searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine and needles. A 21-year-old female and a 25-year-old male were arrested. 

Police responded to a report of an assault outside a store in the 2000 block of White Bear Avenue North. A man said he was punched in the face several times around 11 a.m. on Sept. 6.

Police responded to an assault report in the 1000 block of Frost Avenue East. A victim was stabbed and taken to Regions Hospital around 11:20 p.m. A suspect was arrested and their weapon was located. 


North St. Paul

Suspicious activity
A person was reportedly running through yards in the 2100 block of 15th Avenue on Aug. 31 around 12:30 a.m. Police checked the area and found no such activity.

A vehicle reportedly circled businesses in the 2000 block of McKnight Road on Sept. 2 around 3:45 a.m. The driver was advised to leave the property.

Stolen animal
A man was reportedly walking a stolen dog near the intersection of Chippewa Avenue and Shoshone Road on Sept. 2 around 8:15 a.m. Police responded with a report.

Suspicious activity
Police responded to a report of people looking into a car with flashlights in the 2000 block of Flanders Road on Sept. 4. Police say the people were repossessing a vehicle and the report was cleared around 1 a.m.


Lake Elmo

Someone stole items from a vehicle in the 11000 block of 20th Street North on Sept. 1. Police responded to the report around 6:30 a.m.

A fire was reported near the intersection of Windbreak Trail North and Jack Pine Trail North. The fire occurred on Sept. 1 just before 6 p.m.

Shooting complaint
Someone reported shots fired in the 8000 block of 39th Street North on Sept. 2 just after midnight.

Animal complaints
A person was reportedly bitten by an animal in the 1000 block of Keats Avenue North on Sept. 3 around 10:45 a.m. Another animal complaint was reported in the 9000 block of Jamaca Court North around 4 p.m. the same day, as well as in the 9000 block of 31st Street North the following morning.

A person was reportedly driving while intoxicated on Highway 36 in Lake Elmo on Sept. 4 around 11 p.m.

Suspicious activity
Four suspicious people were reported within an hour on Sept. 5 between 8:30 and 9:30 p.m. in the following areas: one in the Cimarron neighborhood, two in the 11000 block of 32nd Street North, and another near the intersection of Linden Avenue North and Manning Avenue North. 

Items were stolen from a vehicle in the 100 block of Jasmine Avenue North on Sept. 6 around 6:30 p.m.

Noise complaint
Neighbors reported excessive noise in the Cimarron neighborhood on Sept. 7 around 4:30 a.m.

Animal complaints
Two more animal complaints were reported in the city later in the week on Sept. 7. The incidents were reported in the 11000 block of 110th Street North and near the intersection of Stillwater Boulevard North and Inwood Avenue North between 1:45 and 2 p.m.
